Panel Discussion: The Latest in Game Worker Organising
Over the past few years, a wave of unionisation has swept across the games industry. The organising has taken different forms, with workers joining existing unions or building their own. There have been protests, strikes, and collective bargaining is now happening in the industry.
For example, SAG-AFTRA members in the games industry have been on strike this year, and IWGB members at ZA/UM recently signed the first union recognition agreement in the games industry in Britain.
Join us for a panel discussion on the latest in game worker organising. Jamie Woodcock will host a discussion with:
Sarah Elmaleh, Actor, Director and Interactive Media Agreement Negotiating Committee Chair, SAG-AFTRA
Spring McParlinJones, Game Worker and IWGB Game Workers Chair
The panel will be held in-person at King's and livestreamed.
This event is part of the Game Worker Summit, organised with funding from Jamie Woodcock's Digital Futures Institute Fellowship at King's College London. It is co-sponsored by the Centre for Digital Culture at King's College London.
