LINGUASPHINX
A small online session for people whose sentences just… you know.
This is not a public speaking workshop.
The idea isn’t to speak “better” or more “impressively.” The idea is to make speaking feel less like being watched by yourself.
The shape:
Arrival and (dis)orientation
A short talk from me on fluency, and the gap between thought and speech
Low-pressure group discussion around what “good speech” even means to us, and who we’re comparing ourselves to
A couple of absurd little speech experiments designed to make speaking feel less performative
Optional Discord after-room for ongoing language quests, voice notes, and unfinished utterances
90 minutes-ish. Online. 6–8 people max.
Please bring:
any deck of cards
an object that came into your possession by accident
a book you’ve been meaning to read
either a pepper shaker or a plushie animal
Language is unruly.
Drinks, snacks and (domesticated) animals welcome.
