A Trauma-Informed Approach To Suicide Prevention
Many people unknowingly link suicide to mental health.
Consider the possibility that suicide happens at the intersection of hopelessness, helplessness and powerlessness, which could be brought on by unhealed trauma, unacknowledged stress and unequal distribution of wealth.
We’ll take a look at specific circumstances, both within the school setting and outside of it, that increase the risk of young people, teachers and staff dying from suicide. Events and scenarios which could result in trauma wounds, stress and distress.
Leave with the ABC of SUICIDE PREVENTION to more easily identify young people, teachers and staff who need suicide prevention support sooner.
This session is for all educators and especially form tutors, school counsellors, mentors, pastoral leads and SLT.
