JOI FILM SALON
Join joi for an evening of short films exploring sex, intimacy, and the body. The evening is curated by filmmaker Ani Simon-Kennedy and presented by Lightning Society.
This series features animated, documentary, and narrative shorts from around the world. The collection looks at the many ways desire, pleasure and relationships shape our understanding of ourselves.
After the screening, we open the floor to discussion, reflection, and questions.

ABOUT ANI
Ani Simon-Kennedy is a Paris-born filmmaker whose work builds new worlds and shifts perspectives. Her feature The Short History of the Long Road, starring Sabrina Carpenter and Danny Trejo, premiered at the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival and received a Special Mention for Best Screenplay. Supported by the Sundance Institute, Film Independent, and the Gotham, her films have screened at top festivals worldwide. She has also directed branded work for Allure, Glamour, The New Yorker, and Vice, and was named one of the Gotham's 2025 Series Creators to Watch.
