This Month’s Pick: The Creative Act: A Way of Being by Rick Rubin

Join us as we explore The Creative Act - Rick Rubin’s meditative guide to living and thinking like an artist. More than a book about making things, it’s a philosophy of noticing, listening, and shaping life itself as a creative practice. With Rubin’s signature simplicity and wisdom, he invites us to see creativity not as a talent for the few, but as a birthright for all.

✨ In our discussion, we’ll dive into:
– What it means to live a creative life beyond art or career
– The role of awareness, stillness, and intuition in creation
– How limits and discipline can spark freedom
– Ways to access inspiration when it feels out of reach

Whether you’re a painter, coder, entrepreneur, or simply curious, Rubin’s ideas offer tools for uncovering creativity in everyday life.

About the Author:
Rick Rubin is a legendary music producer behind some of the most influential albums of the past four decades - from Johnny Cash to Jay-Z, Adele to the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Known for his minimalist approach and deep listening, Rubin has shaped modern music not just through sound, but through philosophy. In The Creative Act, he distills his insights into a timeless meditation on art, awareness, and being.

Why Read It?
The Creative Act isn’t a “how-to” manual - it’s a companion for anyone who wants to bring more presence, flow, and imagination into their work and life. Rubin reminds us that creativity isn’t about perfection or output, but about tuning into the world around us and shaping it in our own voice.

You’ll leave reflecting on how to nurture your own creative practice, not just in art, but in how you live, love, and lead.
