BiTS Japan Webinar with Douglas Wicks
In this webinar, Director of ASCENT-Japan and former ARPA-E Program Director Douglas Wicks introduces the upcoming Japanese cohort of Big if True Science Accelerator (BiTS), focusing on the background, goals and application process.
BiTS teaches key strategies and tactics to scope bold concepts and transform those concepts into actionable programs. It involves 15 weeks of iteration on a program vision, paired with 1:1 guidance from experienced mentors, and culminates in a demo day pitch to funders and potential host institutions. The program is part-time and virtual, designed to be compatible with full-time work.
With two cohorts underway in partnership with UK's Advanced Research and Invention Agency (ARIA) and Germany's Federal Agency for Breakthrough Innovation (SPRIND) in Germany, we invite ambitious scientists and technologists to join our upcoming cohort in Japan.
In collaboration with SRI and the Stellar Science Foundation, Renaissance Philanthropy will support up to 15 aspiring R&D leaders to develop detailed visions for ARPA-style coordinated research programs (CRPs) or other innovative research program designs. Selected participants may be recruited as Venture Directors by Renaissance Philanthropy or GSC partners to implement their programs as Venture Directors. Others may join as technical specialists or become program grantees.
This webinar will be an opportunity to learn about BiTS and understand the application process for the Japan cohort.
There will be an option to participate In-person at the location in Shibuya, if interested, please register and Email to:
