Nietzsche, Bataille, and the Silicon Cage | Patrick Saltykov (The Warrior Philosopher) Live with Lev Polyakov on BREAK THE RULES NYC
Patrick Saltykov (The Warrior Philosopher) joins Lev Polyakov, host of Break the Rules, to record a podcast live in NYC.
DOORS OPEN AT 6:30 PM EST & SHOW IS AT 7:30 PM EST.
Are we hopelessly trapped in the digital sludge and materialist cages of our own making, or can we learn to embrace alterity—the uncontrollable, radically other energy of life—rather than trying to conquer it or succumb to it?
In this episode, we use the archetypes of the modern internet—from the sterile compliance of the "Normie" and the digital isolation of the "Redditor" to the raw, reactive resentment of the "Chud"—to diagnose our current cultural malaise.
Grounded by Friedrich Nietzsche's call to self-overcoming and Georges Bataille’s philosophy of expenditure and sacrifice, we explore how modern systems attempt to manage Eros and alterity while keeping us locked in safe, artificial worlds.
Moving beyond the Left's hesitant framing of fantasy, we look at how affirming constant repetition—even to the point of failure—and engaging in non-utilitarian sacrifice allows us to make a lover of Alterity.
Instead of seeking cheap digital pleasures or maintaining the status quo, we test the limits of possibility through new, novel, and unproductive acts, expanding what man is capable of.
Tune in as we cut through the algorithm to examine whether our mundane world is a permanent illusion or the frontline of a looming Promethean disclosure.
We'll also be hosting an after show party.
