​📌 About the Event

​LSBU UAE SpeakUp 2026 is a high energy impromptu speaking competition designed for Grade 11 & 12 / AS & A Level students across the UAE.

​Organised by the Student Council of London South Bank University UAE in collaboration with the Toastmasters Club, this event gives students the opportunity to step onto a university stage and showcase their communication skills in a competitive environment.

​🧩 Competition Format

​Participants will be evaluated across two key speaking styles:

​🎤 Impromptu Speaking (Table Topics)

• ​Speak on a random topic with no prior preparation

• ​Focus on clarity, structure, and confidence

​🎯 Opinion Express

• ​Take a clear stance on a given statement

• ​Present logical arguments and support your viewpoint

​🏆 Competition Rounds

• ​Round 1: Impromptu Speaking (Preliminary)

• ​Round 2: Opinion Express (Semi-Final)

• ​Round 3: Grand Finale (Finalists choose category)

​Participants progress through rounds based on performance.

​⏱️ Speaking Format

• ​Preparation Time:

  • ​1 minute (Rounds 1 & 2)

  • ​2 minutes (Final Round)

• ​Speaking Time:

  • ​2 minutes (Rounds 1 & 2)

  • ​3 minutes (Final Round)

​💰 Prizes

• ​🥇 1st Place: AED 1000

• ​🥈 2nd Place: AED 500

• ​🥉 3rd Place: AED 300

​Certificates will be awarded to all participants and finalists.
