Their Experience is the Outcome
A child’s encounter with the justice and care system extends far beyond procedural milestones—the relational encounter between a child and a multidisciplinary professionals is just as significant as the legal, forensic, or clinical result. Joining us from Estonia’s Lastemaja (Barnahus), Merit Korbe will lead a visual walkthrough of a child’s Barnahus journey—illustrating how environment, sensory cues, and taking care of the whole child combine to turn an intimidating process into a reassuring, healing experience.
Participants will explore how placing the child's feeling of safety and control at the heart of the process enhances both investigative integrity and emotional wellbeing and will have the opportunity to ask questions and learn actionable lessons from Estonia’s unique context that can be adapted to other Barnahus settings.
