Ligare is a Houston gathering built around one idea: that a good activity, a room full of kind and curious humans, and a few real questions can do more in two hours than another mixer, networking hour, or dinner with strangers and no map.
On July 30, we're at the Lymbar, inside the Ion, for an after-work Thursday themed around "on layaway": The things you pay toward before you get to have them. What you've been saving up for. What you keep filing under "later" until you can afford it — the money, the time, the nerve. When "later" is wisdom, and when it's just fear.
The game is easy to learn and quietly addictive: you gather, you build, you reserve what's just out of reach until it's finally yours. The conversations it opens are about what you're building toward — and what the waiting costs.
This gathering is walk-in friendly — no Connection Profile in advance, pairing done on site. Sign up here, and when you check in, we'll text you a short Connection Profile (about 5 minutes, while you grab your drink). You'll get an instant personality type reveal, and matched with a table for the night around personality, life stage, and how you connect.
How this gathering runs
Before you arrive
Just sign up and show up. You can take our Connection Profile in advance, or when you arrive.
When you arrive (~20 min)
You check in with Brenen at the door. You get a drink ticket, a nametag, and a quick text on your phone with a link to a short Connection Profile — about five minutes, while you ease in with your included drink. Light games are already running.
When the room is ready, you'll get a second text: your table for the night, your Connection Suit, and a slight nudge about how you might show up for your table. Find your seat and settle in.
Your table (~75–90 min)
You meet the people chosen for your table, order food, and light a candle. A Spark Card opens the conversation — not an icebreaker exercise, just an intro question worth answering. We help set up and teach each table the game in under five minutes, then the evening runs itself: you play, talk, eat, open more cards. The host is there when you have a question about the game.
After (~open)
The structure drops when the final card is read. Blow out the candle, linger, keep talking. Most people stay longer than they planned. A survey after gives you a chance to tell us who you would love to be connected with, and we'll follow up if it's mutual.
