SMU Institute of Innovation & Entrepreneurship (IIE)
For nearly two decades, SMU IIE has guided entrepreneurs from idea to market, incubating 527 startups and raising SGD 747M in funding. A key player in Asia’s innovation ecosystem, it hosts the Lee Kuan Yew Global Business Plan Competition (LKYGBPC)—one of the region’s top deep-tech startup challenges.
A Mindanao-based startup, Pic-A-Talk empowers children with speech impairments through a picture exchange communication system (PECS) on smartphones. Recognized for its impact, it won the Social Impact Award at the KMC Startup Awards 2024, revolutionizing assistive communication technology.
About the Organizers
Wavesparks Philippines is a nonprofit empowering young founders through Start-Up Literacy, helping them build right and create lasting impact. As the largest youth founder community, it runs the Young Founders Summit, a six-month incubator for 15-20-year-olds across Greater Asia, equipping them with mentorship, resources, and a launchpad for their ventures.
