A Playground For Unfinished Game Ideas
Dev & Draft is presented as part of Ideafest Season 2 by Fireplace, happening at Scape on 5–6 July 2026.
Think of it as a behind-the-scenes pass to local games still being made.
Local game makers — from students to small studios — will set up their works-in-progress around the space. You can walk up, play something, talk to the developers themselves and tell them what you think. Your reaction might just shapes what the game becomes.
And you don't need to identify as a gamer to enjoy this. You just need to be curious.
Wait, Singapore Makes Games?
Yes!
You might not be surprise to hear that Singapore has an active game scene. Or that 4 in 5 Singaporeans play games.
But here's something even hardcore gamers might not know:
We also develop games. 170+ game companies call Singapore home. Singaporeans have shipped over 200 games since 2000. You might have played some without knowing they were made here. And the next wave is still being built. They're being made in actual offices, classrooms and in bedrooms.
Dev & Draft is where you get to play what these developers are building before anyone else does ~
Who’s is this event for?
This event is for people who want to celebrate creativity — the ones who see potential in messy prototypes, who get excited about "what if" conversations, who show up to support ideas in progress.
If you're here to see polished, ready-to-ship games or to play critic, this ain't it. we're looking for the believers, the encouragers, the "let me help you figure this out" crowd.
But apart from that, practically everyone is welcome.
What Is Happening?
Digital Games Showcase
MAGES Institute, Lvl 5 · 5 July · 12–5pm
Game makers set up their works-in-progress across the space. Grab a controller, break their game, give feedback — watch them frantically jot notes while you're still mid-playthrough.
Tabletop Games Showcase
Scape, Lvl 5 · 5-6 July · 12.30–7pm
If your idea of a social night is still karaoke or drinks, this might be up your alley. Discover local designers building original titles, communities that meet weekly just to try new things together and leave with at least one idea for what to do with your friends next weekend.
No experience needed. The creators will explain everything. Possibly too enthusiastically.
Singapore has game makers. Some of them are extraordinary. Most of them are building in rooms nobody knows about.
