Sudan Digital Archive Monthly Community Call

Sudan Digital Archive: Monthly Community Session

The Sudan Digital Archive is a collaborative project to collect, preserve and share digital records relating to Sudan. Our focus is on archiving the digital assets of the revolution and preserving civilian voices, documenting the ways in which civilians have engaged in building Sudan and resisting the regime.

Each month, we hold an open virtual session where the people who use and contribute to the archive come together to hear project updates and add new material to the collection.

Who it’s for
Everyone is welcome, whether you’re interested in contributing to the archive, a researcher who would like to use the collection, or someone hearing about the project for the first time. The session is held online so that archivists, researchers and technologists working on Sudan from around the world can take part.

What to expect
The session is led by one of the programme’s leads. It usually includes:

• An update on where the archive project stands

• A chance for current contributors to share progress on their projects and raise anything that’s holding them up

• Time to ingest new digital assets (adding new files, documents and media into the archive)

If you’re new, there’s no need to prepare anything. You’re welcome to simply listen in and get a feel for how the community works.
