The Cacao Salon: Off Duty
Off Duty Monday, June 23 · 6:30 PM · TriBeCa
New York keeps you on. Always.
At work, you're professional. With family, you're the one who has it together or quietly carrying the scapegoat role. With friends, you're fun and fine, or the one who cancels. On dates, you're the best version of yourself — or the one who sabotages it every time. Even at the gym, you're performing for someone.
There's always a switch. The moment you walk into a certain room, a certain version of you clicks on. And somewhere underneath all of it, you're exhausted from carrying it.
There's a version of you that almost nobody gets to see. Maybe because there's never really been a safe room for it.
June 23rd is your night off.
The Cacao Salon is a monthly gathering for New Yorkers who are ready to stop performing and start being real. We come together over ceremonial cacao for guided conversation, honest connection, and the kind of evening that stays with you.
This month's theme is Off Duty — an evening of exercises and conversations designed to help you drop the role and just… be here.
"Maybe it was the first time many people in that room ever felt validated. Almost everyone carries some wounds — and you created a space where that was finally okay to say out loud." — Sid
Why cacao?
Ceremonial cacao is a heart-opening plant medicine used for thousands of years in Mesoamerican tradition. Unlike caffeine, it doesn't wire you up — it softens the nervous system, quiets the mental performance, and creates a gentle opening. It's hard to keep your mask on when your heart is warm. We source ours directly from a small family farm in Guatemala, prepared the traditional way.
"I came in a little skeptical about the cacao. I left a complete convert. There's something about the way Sasha introduces and offers it that makes you actually trust it. And then you feel it work. I'm definitely a big fan now." — Chris

Your host:
Sasha Sakhar has lived in a lot of worlds — media, tech, corporate New York, and eventually ceremony and intentional living. She knows what it feels like to be always on.
After years of her own inner journey, she became deeply curious about what makes people tick — how we're wired, why we hide, and what it actually takes to feel at home in yourself and connected to others. That work lives in everything she designs.
She founded SUGARHAUS and Soul & Spirit Cacao, sourcing ceremonial cacao directly from a small family farm in Guatemala, prepared the way it was always meant to be.
She built Cacao Salon for the people who have everything figured out on the outside — and are quietly asking bigger questions on the inside.
This is that room.
