This XRPL Hackathon is a build focused on the XRP Ledger's newest primitives - the lending protocol and single asset vaults. Participants will experiment with these features, build a working MVP, and submit a demo of what they've made. The event is organized by the XRPL Foundation and Ripple's University Blockchain Research Initiative (UBRI).
This hackathon will be held held on the 29th and 30th of July, 2026. Only attendees of the Rare Evo conference will be allowed to participate.
🛠 Challenge Statement
The Goal: Use the lending protocol and single asset vaults to build an app, then submit a demo of what you've made. We want you to use the XRP Ledger's newest primitives to their fullest potential.
The Challenge :
A working feature built on the lending protocol, or experimentation using single asset vaults
Submit quality feedback capturing your takeaways from testing
Build in public by posting on X and tagging the XRPL Foundation (@XRPLF) about the MVP you're submitting
⚠️ Eligibility & Rules
Rare Evo attendee: All team members must hold a ticket to the Rare Evo Conference 2026 to participate. Teams of up to 2 participants are allowed.
Fresh Code Only: To ensure fair competition, projects that began development before the hackathon begins are NOT eligible.
Build in Public: You must put up a post on X and tag the XRPL Foundation (@XRPLF) talking about the MVP you are submitting.
Developer Feedback File: All teams must submit feedback about their developer experience at this form to qualify for prizes.
To compete, you must submit a working, testable MVP that is publicly available on GitHub with a detailed README.
🏆 Prizes
Standout projects can earn a sponsored spot at the pre-SWELL Hackathon this October in New York City - travel and stay covered. Winners be notified via email by August 12th, 5PM PDT.
Judging Criteria:
MVP: Innovation, Technical Execution, Real-World Impact, and Presentation Quality.
Feedback: Relevance, Detail oriented, Use of AI, Enhancement proposal vs flagging

Members from the UBRI & XRPLF team will be at the College Row booths on the 29th & 30th of July from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM PDT. Feel free to stop by for any questions or assistance. (There is no allotted hacking space and hackers don't need to remain on the venue through out the event)
