Rooted in Evidence, Poised for Growth
Join us on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026, to celebrate the launch of The Cumming School of Medicine’s (CSM) Centres for Health Evidence, Data, and Applied Research (CEDAR) — an integrated health data and research ecosystem.
Date: Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026
Time: 10 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. — Formal Program
12:15 – 1 p.m. — Hot Lunch & Networking
Location: Theatre 4, Health Sciences Centre
Foothills Campus, University of Calgary
The formal program will feature a keynote address from Tim Tamashiro, followed by special TEDx-style presentations, “Four Roots, One Tree: Introducing CEDAR,” introducing the new initiative, highlighting impactful research collaborations, and what faculty and partners can expect going forward.
Following the formal program, guests are invited to join us in the Azrieli Atrium for a hot lunch and networking. Each centre will host a booth, providing an opportunity to meet researchers and colleagues, learn more about the work underway across the four centres, and explore opportunities to connect and collaborate.
CEDAR brings together:
Calgary Centre for Clinical Research
Centre for Health Informatics
The Nelson PULSE Centre
W21C Research and Innovation Centre
Together, these four centres are building on their established strengths and expertise to create new opportunities for collaboration, connection, and impact across health research.
Join us as we introduce CEDAR and celebrate the next chapter in health evidence, data, and applied research at the University of Calgary.
One entry point. Clear, supported processes. An integrated health data and research ecosystem.
