LGBBQ+: A Queer and Trans Community BBQ - California
This is a gathering to bring people together and build community!
Bring a friend (please share this registration page with them beforehand) and, if you want, bring a dish and/or interest (game, textile art, nature book, coloring supplies, bubbles, etc.) to share with your neighbors! The whole point is for us to play and hang, to get to know each other.
This is the inaugural event for the Chico chapter of The Venture Out Project, and we'll be hosting events for queer and trans folks to leisure, learn, and play together outside. (I know, isn't this exciting?!) First we want to get folks together over a little grilling, then we'll start planning events for the Fall and beyond!
We'll be serving classic hot dogs AND vegan and gluten free versions of the same. If you also want to bring a classic BBQ side or accoutrement--you're grandma's potato salad, your favorite baked beans, the "right" kind of relish so you're not stuck with the "wrong" one (we can have the sweet v dill debate in person)--you're most welcome! You're also welcome to bring a dish you'd love to share with people--something you (or your kids!) just really enjoy making, or a dish you learned to make from elders who you don't live near anymore. It's all welcome!

We don't have kiddo activities planned, but kids are absolutely welcome at this event! We ask folks under the age of 18 to please register themselves and an adult to accompany them. All members of the LGBTQ+ community are welcome. Grown ups, please register your kids so we know how many to cook for (and, of course, that all liabilities are covered).
This event is completely free to access! TVOP welcomes donations to support the continuation of programming like this and appreciates your support and your contribution! If you do not make a donation, you are absolutely still 100% welcome! (Adjust the donation to any amount after you select the "Get Ticket" button above.)
