An Afternoon with Rumi

​Join us for a reading of Rumi’s poems and a discussion on their underlying meaning and practical relevance for us today. As a Sufi Mystic and Poet from the 13th century, Rumi wrote about longing, ego, joy and our restless search for meaning - facets we grapple with even today.

​We'll read a handful of poems aloud, talk about what moves us (or confuses us), and let the conversation go where it wants - with some facilitation involved by a moderator. 

​No prior knowledge of Rumi or Sufism needed — just bring curiosity and a willingness to sit with a line that doesn't resolve immediately.

Your way begins on the other side.
Become the sky.
Take an axe to the prison wall.
Escape.
Walk out like someone suddenly born into colour.
Do it now.
You're covered with thick cloud.
