About Event

This Tuesday, creative technologist Nicholas Hildebrandt returns to Future Film for an in-depth look at the advanced video generation techniques he’s been using on brand commercials with Wieden+Kennedy and nmatic.

We’re excited to welcome Nicholas back. His last session, on bringing AI agents into the video workflow, was incredibly valuable for a lot of us. For the past two months he’s been deep in commercial work for major brands, and he’s coming back with a lot to share.

During the session, Nicholas will take us into the nitty gritty of how he gets AI models to deliver the shot he needs, starting with references. He’ll show how he crops and comps keyframes in Photoshop to use as references, and how that helps solve problems with background continuity and fluid motion compared with generating without the crop. He’ll walk through how he has an AI agent run Blender to block out a scene in 3D and animate the camera, then uses that as the reference. And he’ll show how he films himself to give the models acting and performance references.

He’ll also share the small, often strange nuances he’s learned prompting image and video models, and break down the models themselves: which ones he uses for what, where they struggle, and the tricks he’s found to get around their limits.

For professional editors and filmmakers, this is a front-row look at the craft behind AI work at the agency level, from one of our own who’s doing it right now.

Nicholas presents, then we open it up for questions and conversation with the group.
