About Event

This hike follows the route of the famous Kusam Klimb, a legendary endurance course known for its relentless elevation gain and demanding terrain.

If you're looking for a serious physical challenge and incredible views, this is the hike for you.

The day begins with a steep climb up Bill's Trail, winding through dense forest as we make our way toward the saddle below Mount H'Kusam.

The ascent is relentless, gaining elevation quickly and requiring strong fitness and determination. As we climb higher, the forest begins to open up, revealing stunning views of Johnstone Strait, the surrounding mountain ranges, and the rugged wilderness of Northern Vancouver Island.

Near the upper section of the route, we'll pass a beautiful alpine tarn that makes for an excellent rest stop before continuing onward.

After reaching the high point and taking time to enjoy the views, we'll begin the long descent along a gravel logging road through the Stowe Creek watershed.

While less technical than the climb, the descent is lengthy and still requires plenty of energy, making this a true full-day mountain adventure.

This is a strenuous hike best suited to experienced hikers comfortable with steep terrain, long days, and significant elevation gain.

Come prepared for a tough but incredibly rewarding day on the trail.
