About the speaker: Katie Stebbins is the Executive Director of the Tufts Food & Nutrition Innovation Institute. Founded on the principles of human-centered innovation, Katie convenes a globally unique interdisciplinary consortium of stakeholders from across the food value chain to address some of the most pressing issues in food, health, and equity. Katie also published “Boston Foodtech,” which is the first geographically focused economic cluster report on foodtech in the US, and she actively convenes this community to draw attention to the tech stack that powers the global food supply chain. Formerly the Massachusetts Under-Secretary for Technology, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship, Katie has convened global ecosystems in cybersecurity and regional ecosystems in manufacturing, digital health, advanced materials, and high-performance computing.
Moderator: Suman Lal is the Managing Director of Technology Innovation Studio (TINS) and a Senior Advisor to the Cambridge Innovation Center (CIC) and the Venture Cafe Global Institute (VCGI) that operates innovation campuses and labs across cities in US, Europe and Asia. His experience over the last 15 years have been across translational research, technology commercialization and entrepreneurship in the ecosystems of Singapore, New York and Boston. Suman has an MD in clinical medicine, an MSc in human genetics, and did his PhD in precision medicine & clinical pharmacology. He also received his MBA from MIT as a Sloan Fellow, focusing on innovation and global leadership.
