​BLOCK71 Dinner Club: Off the Record with Dong Wenhao

​We’re kicking off the BLOCK71 Dinner Club, a new series of small group dinners for NUS Student Entrepreneurship Community (SEC) members. The series is designed for honest, off-the-record conversations with experienced founders.

​For this first edition, we’re joined by Dong Wenhao, co-founder of Smilie, a B2B gifting startup backed by venture capital.

​Wenhao is a seven-figure founder who started his first company at 19, got backed, and sold the business before serving National Service. Over the past nine years, he has built and invested in startups across software, F&B, construction, and more, with multiple ventures reaching seven-figure annual revenue.

​This is a relaxed, closed-door session where student founders can hear real stories, ask candid questions, and connect over dinner. No slides. No pitching. Just a founder who has been through the ups and downs, sharing what it is really like to build, grow, and figure things out.
