London L&D Shakers Meetup #40
Story as a Learning Tool: Build Stories That Make Learning Memorable
We’re especially excited for this one—our fellow L&D Shaker Mirna Šmidt is visiting London, and we can’t wait to host her in person.
Storytelling is one of the most powerful tools in learning—and also one of the hardest to use authentically. Many facilitators struggle to find the right stories, structure them so they flow, or deliver them in a way that feels captivating (not forced).
In this interactive masterclass, we’ll explore what makes stories memorable and why they land so well in learning contexts. You’ll actively work through practical techniques and leave with insights you can apply immediately in your workshops, training, and talks.
About the speaker
Mirna Šmidt has 18 years’ hands-on training experience, grounded in psychology and adult learning. She holds an MSc in Engineering & Computing (University of Zagreb) and an MSc in Applied Positive Psychology (Cambridge), blending research-backed insight with practical facilitation. Mirna has delivered programmes in 30+ countries for NGOs, startups, and organisations including Cisco, L’Oréal, and Molson Coors, and has spoken at global conferences such as HR Week and Women in Data Science.
