BEAT: Building Equitable Accessibility Together - Breaking Everyday Barriers to Inclusive City-Making

Exploring inclusive and accessible cities at LAB42

On 9 October, LAB42 will host the BEAT Meet & Match — an opportunity to learn more about research and collaborations focused on accessibility, inclusive city-making and the everyday barriers people encounter when navigating urban environments.

BEAT (Building Equitable Accessibility Together) is an NWO-funded research project led by Dr. Hamed Alavi of the Digital Interactions Lab at the University of Amsterdam. Organised by BEAT research partners from the Athena Institute, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU).

The project brings together researchers, municipalities, accessibility organisations, industry partners and people with lived experience to explore how cities can become more accessible and inclusive.
During the Meet & Match, project partners will introduce their organisations and ongoing work, and share tools, materials and collaborations through an informal collaboration marketplace.
The open segment is open to everyone at LAB42 — including our companies and community members. Drop by to meet the people involved, exchange ideas and learn more about the research and collaborations taking place around urban accessibility and inclusive city-making.
