We Are Not Going to Shrink: REPEAT

A second evening. A room of women. The conversation no one prepared us for.

I loved last week's conversation so much, I want to do it again. Attendance at Part 1 NOT required.

The script most women are handed runs out around age 42.

Up to that point, there is a path. Be useful. Hold it together. Amass credentials. Work hard. Take care of everyone. Then the path just stops, and most of the noise from there forward tells us to get smaller. Want less. Take up less room.

We are not going to shrink.

This is an evening to talk honestly about the back half of life with a small group of women who get it without the explaining. No script. No slides. No performance. Just the conversation we have all been having alone, finally out loud and together.

The first time we did this, the room went quiet. Then it got honest. Then nobody wanted to leave. That is the room I am opening again.

Nobody before us did this part the way we are about to. Not our mothers. Not the women in the magazines. We are the ones inventing it. So let us compare notes.

What we will get into:

  • What the back half of life is actually for, once the old script runs out

  • How to keep working at what we love and stop working at what we don't

  • Taking care of ourselves out loud, without apology, and letting the people we love watch us do it

  • What it looks like to claim the years we have left on our own terms

Who this is for: The woman who has spent decades being useful to everyone and is ready to be honest about what she wants. She is not in crisis. She is in transition. She has stopped waiting for permission. If that is you, you already know.

What to expect: Tuesday, June 23rd, 4pm Pacific. About ninety minutes. Cameras on. A real conversation, not a lecture. There is no replay, so you have to be here. Come with a cup of something and your honesty.

This is the last open evening like this for a while. After this one, the conversation moves into something deeper, and I will say a little about that near the end.

Free. Bring yourself. And bring a woman who needs this room.

P.S. This evening grew out of a body of work I call The Back Half™. For anyone who wants more than one night, I am opening a small cohort this summer, eight weeks with a group of women doing this work together. And the deepest version is a 7-nights in a stone house in the Scottish glens in October. I will say a little about both near the end. But that is not why you are here. You are here for the conversation. So come.
