Paris Research Hackathon
Paris' very first Research Hackathon
48 hours. 120 of the sharpest AI students from France and Germany, building shoulder-to-shoulder with INRIA and Max Planck researchers and engineers from frontier AI labs.
Two days, research tracks, and one goal: ship work that's actually publish-worthy.
Powered by TUM.ai & Iterate, with INRIA and the Max Planck Institute.
🔬 Three tracks
Frontier AI Research - interpretability, novel reasoning & agent architectures, efficient training & inference, alignment & red-teaming, multimodal and embodied AI.
AI for Science - biology, chemistry & drug discovery, climate and energy systems, mathematical reasoning & formal verification, robotics and simulation.
Autoresearch - agents that read the literature, form hypotheses, run experiments, and write up what they find.
🛠️ What you get
GPU compute credits
API credits
1:1 mentorship from INRIA & MPI researchers and frontier-lab engineers
Curated datasets, evaluation harnesses and starter repos
🎤 Beyond the build
Keynotes from Max Planck's Bernt Schiele and INRIA researchers, hands-on workshops and live coding with partner labs, and the Paper Roast...

About TUM.ai
TUM.ai is Germany's largest AI student initiative. Members span 20+ majors and 30+ universities, and go on to OpenAI, Google, NVIDIA, Anthropic, Meta and YC. The community runs on three pillars: research (publications at NeurIPS, ICML and ICLR, with collabs at MIT, Cambridge and Harvard), hackathons (2,500+ hackers, including the European Hackathon League), and venture through its E-Lab incubator (€8M+ raised by alumni).
About Iterate
Iterate takes high-quality AI hackathons global - 17 events across 9 cities since November (Paris, NYC, SF, London, Tokyo and more). Our platform, hackiterate.com, has powered events like the Mistral Worldwide Hackathon, handling 1,000+ participants at once. Beyond events, Iterate connects exceptional engineers and researchers with the top AI labs, helping the best builders get hired before they ever hit a traditional recruiting funnel.
