About the Event

The path to leadership isn't a straight line — it's a labyrinth. Join M.M.LaFleur for an intimate fireside conversation celebrating the launch of The Leadership Labyrinth: Women Navigating Power and Purpose in a Changing World, a bold new book by communications powerhouse Jade Floyd featuring stories from 25 remarkable women in the C-suite. Jade will be joined in conversation by Heather Higginbottom, Head of Research, Policy & Insights at JPMorgan Chase and one of the book's featured leaders — together exploring the detours, pivots, and defining moments that shape women's paths to power.

Following the conversation, our M.M.LaFleur styling team will be on hand to guide you through our latest collection, helping you find pieces that work as hard as you do. Books will be available for purchase on-site, and Jade will be signing copies throughout the evening, making it the perfect moment to grab one for yourself or the remarkable woman in your life. Time for shopping, signing, and connecting will follow the conversation.

Whether you're climbing, rebuilding, or rising again — this evening is for you.

Meet the Speakers

Jade Floyd

Jade Floyd is a seasoned communications and public affairs leader with more than 15 years of experience guiding Fortune 500 companies, philanthropists, and social impact organizations. As Executive Vice President at Global Strategy Group, her clients include leading investors, venture capitalists, and corporate changemakers. Previously, she served as Vice President of Communications at the Case Foundation — led by digital pioneers Jean and Steve Case — and Revolution Venture Capital, where she built executive positioning strategies and secured coverage in the New York Times, Fortune, Wall Street Journal, Fast Company, and more. A Washington Business Journal "40 Under 40" honoree, Jade channeled her decade-plus of conversations with trailblazing women leaders into her debut book, The Leadership Labyrinth, published by Greenleaf Publishing on March 24, 2026.

Heather Higginbottom

Heather Higginbottom is one of Washington's most accomplished policy and civic leaders, with a career spanning the White House, the U.S. State Department, international humanitarian work, and corporate leadership at one of the world's largest financial institutions. At JPMorgan Chase, she served as Head of Research, Policy & Insights and Co-Head of Global Philanthropy, overseeing nearly $2 billion in global philanthropic investments and championing evidence-based policy for inclusive economic growth. Prior to that, she served as Deputy Secretary of State for Management & Resources under President Obama and as Deputy Director of the Office of Management and Budget, where she functioned as a principal architect of the federal budget. She also served as Chief Operating Officer of CARE USA, a $650 million organization reaching 80 million people across 90 countries. Her story — featured in The Leadership Labyrinth — is a testament to what it looks like to lead with both power and purpose.

About the Book

The Leadership Labyrinth is not a roadmap to the corner office; it’s a compass for women navigating the winding journey of leadership. This journey is not a neat ladder of promotions and accolades, but rather a labyrinth of bold choices, resilience, and reinvention, making it one of the best leadership books for women seeking guidance.

Through powerful storytelling and practical exercises, Jade offers readers more than reflection. She equips them with tools to pause, recenter, and move forward with intention. Her signature “Endeavors” illuminate the challenges women in the C-suite from global brands like Rare Beauty, JP Morgan Chase, and ESPN have faced, including the weight of being “the only” in the room, the tension of balancing ambition with family, and the sting of being underestimated.

Whether you are building a career, navigating a pivot, or finding your place in spaces not built for you, this book provides essential career pivot guidance. It affirms that you deserve a seat at the table. Your path, however winding, is not a detour; it is the way.

The Leadership Labyrinth serves as a companion for every season of leadership: climbing, resting, rebuilding, or rising again. It acts as both permission and provocation to lead with a full heart, to reimagine the rooms we enter, and to leave a legacy not just in titles, but in the lives we influence and touch. This book is indispensable for those considering how to navigate career transitions and is a vital resource for anyone interested in leadership coaching focused on women leadership.
