Mowbray Golf Course Open House
The City of Cape Town is hosting a public open house on the proposed redevelopment of the King David Mowbray Golf Course and surrounds.
The draft concept includes housing, affordable housing, public open space, sport facilities, community facilities, commercial uses, a school, restored waterways and a proposed new train station.
This is one of Cape Town’s most important public land decisions. The site is large, well-located and close to jobs, rail, schools, hospitals and surrounding neighbourhoods.
YU members, young people, civic groups and residents are encouraged to attend, review the plans, ask questions and submit a comment.
We support the redevelopment in principle, subject to strong public-interest conditions. Public land must deliver public outcomes.
