How to Make True Friends (And How to Be One)
Shared Table Dinners—where we meet around food and questions. Everyone brings something to the potluck: a dish, a thought, a feeling, a view—and that’s already plenty.
After a fun little summer series featuring topics like “Should ChatGPT Be My Therapist (And So Much More)?,” “Modern Love and Loneliness,” and “Not Alone On Earth: With All Living Things,” we turn to the question:
What is true friendship, really?
Not the kind we count in likes or scroll past in group chats, but the ones we run towards (literally or metaphorically) in pain, in joy, regardless of what life throws at us. The other significant others, often overshadowed by romantic partnerships, digital followings, and a culture that rarely gives friendship the care it deserves.
When was the last time you made a new friend? And what happens when friendship fades… or breaks? How do we nurture the everyday intimacy friendship asks of us, especially as adults, especially now?
This Shared Table Dinner is an invitation to reflect on how we build, lose, and reimagine friendship in our lives. Because making new friends often begins with learning how to be one.
🍎 How It Works
We ask that you bring something small and easy to share to keep it simple, tasty, and low-waste. You could bring a spread, a salad, raw veggies for a platter, a leftover that’s still delicious, or something sweet 🍫. Homemade or store-bought, all welcome.
This is an alcohol-free, vegetarian dinner — we’ll have tea and water to share.
Come by yourself, or with an old, new, maybe-soon-to be friend!
This event is donation-based 🌟 with a suggested contribution of 10 EUR (minimum 7 EUR).
You’re welcome to give more to support C*Space, which kindly opens its doors to us, and The Oneliness Project, a growing initiative to explore loneliness as a shared experience and reconnection as a practice.
