Koze #1: What does home mean when you have more than one?
Koze is an intimate conversation series by Bridge Moris, a space for honest, warm exchange among members of the Mauritian diaspora.
Each Koze gathers a small group of 8 people around a single question connected to the diaspora experience. There are no presentations, no panels, and no agendas beyond the conversation itself. The richness comes from the room.
This edition
The central question we will explore is: what does home mean when you have more than one?
As part of the Mauritian diaspora, many of us hold Mauritius as home while also having built homes elsewhere. This Koze is an invitation to explore how we navigate that multiplicity, the challenges it creates, and the beauty of belonging to more than one place.
What to expect
A 60-minute conversation on Zoom, hosted by the Bridge Moris co-founders.
An opening round where you will get a chance to know each other.
A main conversation guided by the central question, no lectures, no performances, just real talk.
A closing moment of reflection before we part.
Koze runs in English, but French and Kreol are always welcome. If a thought comes to you more naturally in another language, say it that way.
Before you join
Read our ground rules. They’re short and they matter.
Choose a picture from Mauritius that means something to you and set it as your Zoom virtual background. When we start, we’ll ask you to share briefly why you chose it.
Spots are limited and curated. If you’re selected, you’ll receive a confirmation with everything you need.
A note on how we gather
Koze follows the Chatham House Rule: you’re welcome to talk about what was discussed, but please don’t identify who said what. We may share anonymised highlights in the Bridge Bulletin or on social media, but only ever with your consent.
