Intergenerational People Need People Session
"Though many will say that the future is in the hands of the children, in fact the future lies in the relationship between the generations." — Nora Bateson
We welcome you to join us for a series of gatherings where we will tell stories, invite curiosity, and explore our worlds through intergenerational learning.
In a moment when so much is changing, the generations need each other more than ever. No matter how old or young we are or feel, we all have questions, learnings and failures, heartbreaks and eureka moments. As many of us are wondering what will become of the future, we can find new ways of wandering together in order to collectively have the capacity to do things we have never done before.
No preparation is needed. Invite your parents, children, grandparents and friends, and come as you are for conversations that bridge generations and experiences in a changing world.
What is People Need People?
Developed by Nora Bateson, a People Need People session is a gathering that offers uniquely rich and storied online communication. There are no goals in People Need People sessions, as they are not about solving identified problems. Instead, they allow movement through many aspects of memory and perception that can alter the underlying assumptions about who I am, who you are, and what life is about.
Each session will explore a question through our shared reflections and a meadow of conversation where fresh insights and relationships might quietly take root. Together these groups build relationships that build relationships that build relationships – a vital ingredient of how systems change happens.
These sessions will be lovingly co-hosted by an intergenerational pair of Warm Data Hosts. The hosts for each session are:
December 1st: Nora Bateson and Sahra Brubeck
December 7th: Brandon Dube and Margie Rickell
December 12th: Dani Rae Wilson and Malia Wilson
December 16th: Rachel Hentsch Spadafora and Giulia Spadafora
