Women's Tennis + Social & Picnic in the Park: Game, Set, Picnic πΎπ§Ί
βRally, compete, then picnic. Zero planning required.
βJoin The Fairway Social Club for a women-only tennis afternoon at Goldman Tennis Center in Golden Gate Park, followed by a fully catered picnic on the grass. Whether you're rusty, a regular, or somewhere in between, this is a relaxed way to get back on court and meet other women doing the same.
βHow the afternoon goes:
βRally + warm-up: a quick rally-tips session. The goal is just to get everyone hitting balls back and forth, with no drills and no pressure
βQueen of the Court: a doubles tournament where pairs rotate through matches and one winning team is crowned Queen of the Court
βPolaroids: a photoshoot on the courts, because good afternoons deserve a photo
βPicnic: a fully catered picnic in Golden Gate Park, with blankets, food, and drinks all provided
βNobody plans a thing. Just show up and sit in the grass with your new friends. Capped at 18 women, so it stays small and social.

βFAQs
βDo I need to be good at tennis?
No. This event is beginner-friendly, and you don't need to be good. You just need to be open to being active and having fun for a few hours.
βIs this okay for complete beginners?
Yes. If you're new to tennis or feeling rusty, you're welcome. We'll start with a quick rally-tips session with no drills and no pressure, just getting everyone hitting balls back and forth.
βWhat if I've played before?
Also yes. If you've played casually, taken a few lessons, or are getting back into tennis, this is still a great fit.
βWhat is Queen of the Court?
It's a friendly doubles tournament where pairs rotate through matches and one winning team is crowned Queen of the Court. It keeps everyone moving and playing with different people.
βWill there be coaching?
Not a formal lesson. We'll start with a quick rally-tips session to get everyone comfortable, then move into play and the Queen of the Court doubles tournament.
βDo I need a partner or a group?
No. Pairs will be set during the event.
βDo I need to bring my own racquet?
Racquets and balls are provided.
βCan I come alone?
Please do. A lot of women come to Fairway Social events solo. The whole point is to make it easier to meet people while trying something new.
βCan I request to play with a friend?
Yes. After registering, send us your friend's name and we'll do our best to place you together.
βWhat should I wear?
Comfortable athletic clothing you can move in. Tennis shoes are ideal, but supportive athletic sneakers are fine. Sunscreen and layers are a good idea for a day in Golden Gate Park.
βWill there be food?
Yes. The event ends with a fully catered picnic in Golden Gate Park. Blankets, food, and drinks are all provided.
βWill there be photos?
Yes! We'll do a Polaroid photoshoot on the courts.
βWhat happens if I join the waitlist?
If you join the waitlist, you may see a temporary authorization hold on your card. You will not actually be charged unless a spot opens up and you are moved off the waitlist into the event.
βWhat happens if the weather is bad?
The courts and picnic are outdoors, so we'll communicate any weather-related changes directly to registered attendees.
βWhat is the cancellation policy?
Cancellations must be made at least 7 days before the event to be eligible for a refund. Cancellations made within 7 days of the event are non-refundable.
βDo I need to be a Fairway Social member?
No. There are no membership fees and no prior Fairway Social events required. Just sign up and show up.
