Meet the speakers:
Matthew D’ Cruz, Strategy and Business Operations Manager at Canva
Matt works at Canva, one of Australia's biggest tech success stories, where he sits at the intersection of finance, data and strategy, turning numbers into decisions that help shape where the company goes next. After studying accounting and qualifying as a CPA, Matt built his way up through internships and analyst roles at companies such as American Express and Lendlease. Outside of work, Matt is active in Careers in Colour, a community focused on career advancement for People of Colour, and is passionate about mentoring and investing in the next generation of ANZ startups.
Merren Favretto, Senior Manager, Capital Transactions at Dexus.
Merren has spent 15 years in property finance, where she helps decide how millions of dollars get invested in the buildings and developments that shape our cities. After a property degree at UTS, she started as an analyst, qualified as a valuer, and even spent time working in London before returning to Sydney to take on major deals at Dexus, one of Australia's biggest property groups. She's worked on huge acquisitions and investments, developing a real talent for making complex, high-stakes deals feel clear and approachable. Merren also volunteers as the Sydney Co-Chair for 100 Women, a giving circle supporting women and girls.
