​How We Dine Is How We Live is a curated series of summer dinners taking place across Vilnius throughout June and July.

​Each evening is hosted by a different cook who brings not only a cuisine, but also a personal story, creating a table shaped by food, memory, history and presence.

​Hosted by Farah, this evening offers an opportunity to discover the richness and generosity of Syrian cuisine through a variety of traditional dishes prepared with care and shared in the spirit of hospitality.

​This Summer Table unfolds through the idea of still—not as stillness, but as persistence.

​Even when life asks otherwise.

​The evening begins with a short live story by curator Kamal, opening a conversation that we'll carry with us throughout dinner. Together, we'll reflect on the many ways sharing food becomes an affirmation of life, care, and hope—and how ordinary acts of hospitality often become extraordinary expressions of resilience.

​The stories shared throughout the Summer Tables series form part of an ongoing writing project, From Postcolonial to Postsoviet — A Personal Journey, exploring memory, foreignness, language, belonging and transformation through lived experience.

​About Summer Tables

​Summer Tables is a more intentionally curated continuation of How We Dine Is How We Live—a series of cultural dinners exploring food as a space where memory, migration, adaptation and diasporic presence become visible through the lived experience of the person hosting each table.

​Every dinner welcomes around 25 guests, creating an intimate setting where conversation unfolds as naturally as the meal itself.
