Beyond the Bucket List: What Expedition Travel Teaches You
Some places on Earth still have the power to change you!
Join us for an evening conversation with Alex McNeil, former Chief Expedition Officer at HX Expeditions, on what it actually takes to design meaningful travel in the world’s most remote places. Alex has led nearly 200 expeditions to the planet's most remote corners, including 14 journeys to the Geographic North Pole.
We’ll go behind the scenes of modern expedition cruising: how routes are curated, how learning and science get embedded into the experience, and how operators think about leaving a positive impact on the places and communities they visit.
Leila Lavaee, the founder of Travel Design by Leila, has recently returned from Antarctica herself, and she decided to invite Alex to sit down with us and talk about the questions we're still processing: Why do the world's last wild places matter? What happens to people when they go there? And in an era of over-tourism and climate change, what does responsible exploration actually look like?
This is not a sales pitch or a brochure talk. It’s a candid, idea-driven session to understand what “real exploration” looks like now, and how to travel to fragile regions with more intention.
Come curious. Leave inspired.
Light refreshments will be served. The reservation fee applies to confirm your spot. Proceeds will be donated to conservation in support of the places we're here to talk about.
