About Event

A participatory session on antidisciplinary working in AEC

Designing and delivering buildings has become too complex for any single discipline to solve alone.

During this session, we will explore how AEC teams can work better together during the design stage, using an antidisciplinary approach to collaboration.

As part of this work, we have carried out 20 interviews with professionals across the built environment. During the session, we will share emerging insights from this research and use them as a starting point for discussion.

Rather than a conventional presentation, the event will be a highly participatory three-hour working session with facilitated group discussions. We will bring together a small group of invited professionals from across architecture, engineering, development, sustainability, construction and project leadership to explore how better teamwork can lead to better buildings.

Together, we will discuss how project teams can move beyond disciplinary silos, share accountability for the whole project, and make better-connected decisions earlier — supporting stronger alignment, more integrated sustainability outcomes and buildings that are greater than the sum of their parts.

Places are limited to 25 participants.

Further details, including the full agenda and venue information, will be shared closer to the date.

7th October, 4pm–7pm, followed by drinks at the local pub.
