Hard as Nails: Before We Go National
Come and experience what happens when a room full of men gets its nails painted.
Before we launch our national pilot this November, we’re bringing together some of the people who have helped us get here.
Friends. Supporters. Ambassadors. Partners. And a few people we’d love to bring into the movement.
This is a chance to experience Hard as Nails properly before we take it out into the world.
One of the things we learned from our first event at Shoreditch Nails was just how much energy is created when you put a group of men in a room together and start painting their nails.
There was laughter.
Nervousness.
A lot of conversation.
And that slightly brilliant moment when something that initially feels unusual suddenly starts to feel completely normal.
We want to recreate some of that energy.
Across the evening, five nail technicians will be painting men’s nails (shape and paint only), giving you the chance to experience what thousands of men will be invited to do as part of our national pilot.
And this time there’s another interesting twist: most of our nail technicians will be men.
Hard as Nails is an initiative to encourage men to paint their nails to open up meaningful conversations around healthy masculinity, harmful stereotypes and male mental health.
The evening will also give us a glimpse of what Hard as Nails could feel like inside one of the salons taking part in November.
So expect drinks, music, conversation, plenty of painted nails and hopefully a room with a real buzz about it.
There’ll also be some filming and photography during the evening as we begin telling the story of the campaign and the people helping us bring it to life.
Choose how you’d like to join us
Nail painting at this event is for men only, as we’re recreating the experience at the heart of the Hard as Nails campaign.
If you’re a man and would like your nails painted, please choose one of the available painting slots when you register:
6.00pm – Nail Painting
6.20pm – Nail Painting
6.40pm – Nail Painting
After 7.00pm – Nail Painting
If you’re not getting your nails painted, you are still very much part of the evening.
Choose:
Come along – no painting for me
That option is there for women, non-binary guests and anyone else who wants to join us, support the campaign and be part of the conversation without having their nails painted.
The early appointments are deliberately limited, so if you can make one of those slots, please grab it.
You’ll be helping us create the kind of busy, colourful, slightly unexpected atmosphere we hope participating salons will experience this November.
Come for a drink.
Come for a conversation.
Come to get your nails painted.
Or simply come and be part of Hard as Nails before we go national.
A huge thank you to ES Nails & Beauty, who are generously hosting us at their West Hampstead salon free of charge and helping us bring the evening to life. We’re incredibly grateful to Micheal, Minh and the whole team for backing Hard as Nails.
