Creative Rights Masterclass
The Creative Rights Masterclass, hosted by Doddy Maru and Mwihaki Mwenda, shall focus primarily on Contracts, and Intellectual Property Law 101.
The session shall be led by Doddy Maru and Mwenda Mwihaki, both Advocates experienced and passionate about the arts, creative business, and the legal nexus.
This Masterclass is the first of many, and is part of the broader Creative Rights Kenya (CRK). It is conducted in partnership with Qwani, Dandia Sanaa, Kimbassax Music Ent, and Mwihaki Maru Advocates.
*What is CRK?*
CRK is a legal aid and advisory initiative aimed at educating, empowering, and providing legal services to creatives in Kenya.
The CRK project seeks to bridge the knowledge and accessibility gap in legal support for creators such as visual artists, musicians, designers, filmmakers, writers, and digital content creators.
It was founded by Doddy Maru, an Advocate of the High Court and a writer.
*What is the goal of CRK?*
The goal of CRK is to empower Kenyan creatives into leveraging Kenyan and international IP, media, and commercial law frameworks.
CRK will serve as a legal resource, advisory, and advocacy platform that promotes the rights, protection, and sustainability of creative careers.
