Barnahus as Living Ecosystems

​Collaboration in a Barnahus functions best when partner agencies are viewed not as an administrative machine, but as a living ecosystem. Drawing on empirical findings from Germany’s EvaChild study and frontline Australian multidisciplinary research, guest speakers Dr. Adrienne Alayli (Charité Berlin) and Dr. James Herbert (Australian Centre for Child Protection) examine the relational dynamics that drive sustainable service delivery. Moving past the myth of forced consensus, this session explores how "soft skills"—such as psychological safety, mutual trust, productive friction, and professional "tinkering"—empower practitioners to navigate statutory boundaries while keeping the child’s participation and well-being at the center.
