Forest Bathing & Hike to Datun Waterfall
Brandon will lead us on a hike on the little-known Yangfeng Trail to Datun Waterfall, a gorgeous series of cascading pools in Yangmingshan National Park. We’ll practice some Forest Bathing before heading to the nearby Yangmingshan Flower Clock area, which has beautiful manicured gardens and streams, to explore. There are restaurants and cafes here in case people wish to stick around 😋

⏰ TIME: 9:10am (approx. 4 hours total with the option for individuals to leave earlier)
📍 MEETING POINT & LOGISTICS
Shipai Station outside Exit 1
We’ll be walking from the meetup point towards the bus stop at 9:20am to secure seats. The bus leaves at 9:35am.
We will take Bus 128 to Dingbeitou Bus Station and hike from there. The bus ride is about 15-20 minutes long. From the finish point, Yangmingshan Flower Clock, there are buses to MRT Beitou and Shipai stations. It is also possible to share taxis.
The hike itself will take about 45 minutes total.
NOTE: Weekend mornings are often crowded on the buses. This is a medium-sized bus, but it is still possible that there will not be enough spots on the bus. If this is the case, it is up to you whether you wish to share a taxi to the Dingbeitou Bus Station meetup point or sit this one out. The FindTaxi app estimates the cost to be $200-250 NTD.

Water

Comfortable shoes/sandals
Public transportation card
Bug spray/tiger balm
Sun protection (though the waterfall is mostly shaded)
Something small to sit on
A small towel and/or new socks if you want to put your feet in the water
🚻 FACILITIES:
There is a bathroom at the MRT, at Datun Waterfall, and at Yangmingshan Flower Clock.

* In case of heavy rain, we will cancel the event. We will keep you posted the night before and morning of if necessary. Usually the rain comes in the afternoon at this time of year.
* Please be on time at the meeting point as we will be starting on time and not be waiting for latecomers.
