​November Bookclub: Two Books, One Author

​Join us for a cozy Sunday afternoon at Gazer Cafe as we dive into two novels by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni: The Palace of Illusions and The Forest of Enchantments.

​Both are retellings of ancient Indian epics, the Mahabharata and the Ramayana, told through the eyes of the women at their center. Draupadi and Sita finally get to narrate their own stories, and we’ll be talking about what changes when they do.

​What to expect

• ​Open discussion on both books (read one or both, you’re welcome either way)

• ​Favourite passages, characters, and the retellings we loved or argued with

• ​Good company, good coffee, and plenty of bookish chatter

​All are welcome, whether you’re a regular or coming for the first time. Seats are limited, so reserve your spot early.
