About Event

We’re back this July for another round of talks, playtests, doodles, walks, and more.

UnderDeveloped is a relaxed unconference to celebrate all things games and play: DIY, unfinished, works in progress. Inspired generally by Barcamps, specifically by Lost Levels, and most importantly by having a bunch of wonderful inspiring game makers visiting the city this week.

UnderDeveloped invites you to remember why you got into this industry in the first place, and hopes to connect people back to their playful and creative roots. There’s no set topic or keynote speaker. It’s entirely free to attend, participants decide what to talk about and anyone can join in.

You can run a session on whatever you want. Talk about your niche hobby, share a game idea, run a craft session, a ukulele jam, whatever interests you and that you’d like to share with a willing audience. Sessions are 20 minutes and are meant to be fairly informal.

On arrival you can propose a session. Everything will be added to the programme (as long as there’s time). There’ll be a board with index cards ready, that will form the schedule. Anyone who wants to talk can fill in their talk title and add it to a slot.

There will be two or three session tracks running at the same time depending on numbers. Everyone is free to move between them whenever and however they like. There is no expectation to stay at a particular talk/activity for the whole time and nobody will judge you for switching between talks. The idea is to create an inclusive environment and to allow all participants to have the best time possible, taking in sessions that inspire and enrich.
