Try Embodied Presence For One Hour
This is a live, guided introduction to building preparedness for life's pressures. A free, one-hour session on Zoom.
Under stress, we do not rise to our best, we fall back to our level of preparedness
You intend to be less reactive, more present, more grounded. But in the moment pressure actually hits, that intention disappears. It’s not a sign of weakness; it’s that logic doesn’t reach the place where the pressure actually lives.
Here’s why: the effects of pressure show up in the body, not just the mind. And here’s the strange part: when you’re not really present, you don’t notice your lack of presence. Being “in your head” means not noticing your body, so nothing feels absent. That’s why willpower alone can’t fix it: you can’t force your way out of a gap you can’t feel.
Proactive mindfulness works two ways: you train ahead of time, and you train attention to be responsive to what’s needed rather than reactive to what merely pulls at you. Both are the same stance: showing up on purpose.
In this session, guided experiences will help you discover directly what it’s like to engage your body in a way that helps you be more engaged with life — and you’ll talk with Serge and the group about what you found, in a way that helps you integrate it.
This embodied approach was developed by Merete Holm Brantbjerg and Serge Prengel, drawing on somatic, trauma-informed therapy. Serge will be leading this session.
