How to Be Paid Your Worth
Most people do not know what they are worth in the market, and fewer still know how to ask for it. This holds for senior HR leaders too, who spend their days benchmarking and approving pay for everyone else and seldom apply the same rigour to their own. The number most of us carry in our heads is usually lower than the market one, and when we do say it aloud, it often comes out as a question. In this session, Nina Devouge draws on 20 years on the hiring side to show how pay decisions are made and how to walk into that conversation prepared.
What you’ll walk away with:
Why the number you carry in your head is usually lower than the market one, and how to find the figure the market would pay
Why saying your number as a question costs you, and how to state it with confidence
How to open a pay conversation when you have not had one in years, or have never started one
A view from the hiring side of how offers and increases are decided
This session is for you if:
👉 You are a senior HR leader who has not had a conversation about your own pay in a long time
👉 You have never started one, and have accepted what was offered at each step
👉 You benchmark pay for your whole organisation and are less sure of your own market number
👉 You have a review, a promotion or a new offer coming up and want to walk in prepared
