Nature as Infrastructure: Scaling Coastal Ecosystem-based Solutions for Adaptation and Loss & Damage
Register your interest to attend the official COP31 side event, “Nature as Infrastructure: Scaling Coastal Ecosystem-based Solutions for Adaptation and Loss & Damage,” to explore how coastal ecosystems can serve as essential infrastructure for climate resilience.
Hosted by Conservation International, Rare, Boticário Foundation and Friendship NGO, this event convenes government representatives, international organizations, and leading practitioners to discuss how coastal nature-based solutions can reduce climate risks, strengthen adaptation, and support communities facing climate-related loss and damage, highlighting experiences from Brazil, the Pacific, and Bangladesh.
Through two panel discussions, speakers will examine the policies, economic evidence, community engagement, and financing mechanisms needed to scale coastal solutions and integrate them into national resilience strategies and recovery efforts.
The event will also feature the launch of new research and knowledge products on the economic case for coastal nature-based infrastructure and approaches to addressing loss and damage, offering practical insights to accelerate investment and action.
Join us to explore how we can move from recognizing nature's value to financing it as essential infrastructure for a resilient future.
