About Event

We are excited to invite you again to our upcoming event ‘Empowering Women in Science - African and European Perspectives’, a 2h online workshop that we will host together with the Mawazo Institute.

Together with you, we want to discuss the structural discrimination female researchers have to face throughout their career and learn from each other about best practices and ideas on how to overcome those drawbacks.

The Mawazo Institute (mawazoinstitute.org) set its mission to support early-career women researchers and thought leaders in Africa and does great work in this regard by offering fellowships, conducting research, and giving policy advice. We are more than happy that we will be joined by Fiona Wanjiku Moejes (CEO) and Aisha Mugo (Research Officer) from the Mawazo Institute for this event and are curious to learn from their experience in supporting female scientists in Africa. Also we will give a brief overview about the current situation in the European scientific bubble and are very eager hear about your own experiences.

We invite everyone interested in the topic and especially encourage students and early-career researchers to join the workshop and discuss with us!

  • When: Thursday, 22nd of October, 17:00 - 19:00 (CEST)

  • Where: online!

Please note:

Participation is free but the registration helps us to track the expected number of participants and you to not forget about the date.
