The Geneva Bar Association (GBA) and the Swiss Business Hub UK, together with the Swiss Embassy in London and the Law Society of England and Wales, are pleased to invite you to a high‑level conference dedicated to the UK–Switzerland economic corridor with a focus on finance, commodities and legal services.
At a time of accelerating geopolitical, regulatory and economic transformation, the relationship between the United Kingdom and Switzerland stands out as one of Europe’s most dynamic and resilient bilateral partnerships. Bringing together leading lawyers, senior policymakers, regulators and business representatives, this conference will explore how law, finance and trade interact to support cross‑border growth between two global centres of excellence.
The programme will address, in particular:
the Berne Financial Services Agreement (BFSA) and its impact on cross‑border market access and regulatory cooperation;
the evolving commodities ecosystem, with London and Geneva at its core, and the challenges of risk, compliance and enforcement;
legal services as a business and an economic driver, including their strategic positioning, international promotion and role as an export industry in their own right.
Through a series of focused panel discussions and exchanges, participants will gain practical insights, first‑hand perspectives from key stakeholders, and a deeper understanding of the opportunities shaping the next phase of UK–Swiss economic cooperation.
The conference will conclude with a drink reception at the Swiss Embassy, offering guests the opportunity to continue discussions in an informal and distinguished setting.
