Fractional, On Purpose: What I Learned in My First Year of Fractional Leadership
What might become possible if you turned decades of experience, acomplishment, and relationships into a new way of showing up in the world?
Over the past year, I have been evolving HarLin Strategies as a fractional strategic leadership practice. This work emerged without a traditional business-development or marketing engine, but rather through siting in silence, embracing purpose, and soft launching what I was hearing. It grew through trust, relationships, experimentation and a clearer understanding of how I want to show up in the world.
Along the way, I have also explored how human-centered AI can become part of a professional practice, not as an added technology service, but as a thoughtful extension of how we learn, create, decide and deliver value.
In this candid introductory session, I’ll share what I have learned during my first year of fractional leadership, including:
Why I began with sitting and listening to purpose rather than hanging a out a shingle.
How existing trust and relationships helped the first work emerge
What I learned about translating gifts, purpose, experience, and calling into an offering
The difference between consulting and advising and embedded fractional leadership
How AI became integrated into my practice without replacing human judgment
How to embrace ease in the uncertainty of now
You’ll also have space to reflect on what fractional leadership could mean for your own next chapter.
This conversation may be for you if:
You are an experienced professional considering a fractional, advisory or portfolio direction
You are beginning to develop or refine a fractional offering
You are already doing fractional work and want to think more intentionally about your practice and integrating human-centered AI
You want a more purpose-driven way to translate your experience into meaningful contribution
This is not a certification program, a formula for instant revenue or a promise that everyone should become a fractional leader. It is an honest account of one first-year journey and an invitation to consider what your own path might become.
What you’ll leave with
A clearer understanding of fractional leadership as a way of contributing
Questions for identifying the experience and judgment others already trust you to bring
A simple framework for beginning to shape a fractional offering
