About Event

Everything you know about wine comes from long-standing tradition. Expensive means better. Red with meat, white with fish. Swirl, sniff, sip, decide. Let it breathe. Store it sideways.

Some of these hold up. Some don't. All of them have an origin story worth knowing.

Shannon and Daní built Young Wine Society because they were tired of feeling like they needed a certificate to enjoy a glass. They've spent the last two years making wine accessible to a generation that was told it wasn't for them. This is the talk they wish someone had given them.

Case in point: studies show that when the same wine is poured into different glasses; one labelled expensive, one cheap — people consistently rate them differently. Not because of what's in the glass. Because of what's in their head.

Wine expertise, it turns out, is mostly a story we tell ourselves. One shaped by memory, context, and whoever handed us our first glass.

Come separate the facts from the folklore. The Q&A is open. No opinion too basic.

Doors open at 19:00. Talk begins at 19:30. 45 minutes followed by an open Q&A. No official end — people stay, talk, and argue about wine until the bar closes.
