About Event

Hello Friends!

This is for people who:

  • Are planning to attend Climate & Change Camp (July 9-13 at River Farm)

  • Are interested but want to learn more before committing

  • Are working on climate projects, organizing, or community work and want to meet others doing the same

We're hosting a veggie BBQ at my place in Seattle. Come eat good food, meet people, hear what we're planning for camp this year, and share what you're working on.

Last year we ran a similar gathering before camp and it made a huge difference. People showed up to River Farm already knowing faces, already having conversations started. This year we want more of that. One of our goals for Climate & Change Camp is building connective tissue that lasts beyond the four days, and this is part of that.

We are also bringing back the STUMP this year (literally stump) for people to jump up and shout about how they want to connect with others.

We are also hosting another meet-up June 10 (Weds), you are welcome to attend one or both.

  • 6:00 PM: People arrive, dinner

  • 7:00 PM: Intro to the camp (what it is, what's new this year, Q&A)

  • ~7:30 PM: Connections round. People share what they're working on, what they're looking for, and how they want to connect

  • ~8:30 PM: Sunset over Lake Washington and hang out

  • 9:00 PM+: Extended discussions for those interested

About Climate & Change Camp This is our second year. Four days at River Farm, an 80-acre cooperative east of Bellingham. The structure is roughly equal thirds facilitated sessions, unstructured time, and time in nature. 50-80 people working at the intersection of climate and broader societal change. Sliding scale pricing. Nobody turned away for lack of funds.
